Job Description
Responsible for leading and overseeing the development, implementation, and management of ethics and compliance, data privacy, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) programs. Provide strategic guidance and direction to ensure that NMC conducts its operations in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and enhance NMC’s ethics and compliance program to ensure alignment with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Develop and update policies, procedures, and standards of conduct; conduct risk assessments; implement monitoring and auditing processes; and provide guidance on ethical and compliance matters.
- Design and deliver comprehensive ethics and compliance training programs, including workshops and educational initiatives, to promote a culture of integrity and ensure employees understand their responsibilities.
- Oversee investigations of alleged violations of laws, regulations, company policies, or ethical standards, ensuring proper documentation, reporting, and guidance on corrective actions, disciplinary measures, and risk mitigation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate ethics and compliance risks by monitoring trends, conducting risk assessments, and implementing strategies to minimize organizational exposure.
- Chair or support governance committees, including the Ethics & Compliance Committee and AI Committee.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, HR, internal audit, external auditors, and regulatory authorities, serving as a visible, values-based leader.
- Lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of NMC Group’s ESG strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and progress reporting.
- Manage the data privacy program, ensuring compliance with relevant data protection laws (e.g., ADGM, UAE federal and emirate-specific healthcare regulations, including DOH and DHA). Act as Group Data Protection Officer and liaise with regulators as needed.
Skill & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in ethics, compliance, legal, or related roles, including at least 4 years in a leadership position.
- Proven track record in developing, implementing, and managing ethics and compliance programs.
- Experience in the UAE healthcare sector is an advantage.
