Job Description

Looking for a Senior Operations Manager to lead and grow the Local Shops business, the region’s largest grocery aggregator. The role focuses on expanding operations, improving efficiency, and ensuring smooth delivery of products from customers’ favorite stores to their homes while managing teams, processes, and performance across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end operations, including team management, 3PL and vendor management, picker operations, property/asset management, operational standards, and expense control
  • Ensure accurate stock management by maintaining proper store data and aligning app listings with actual in-store inventory
  • Manage picker operations to ensure correct pick-and-pack processes, staffing, and scheduling to meet service level targets and efficiency goals
  • Hire, manage, and coordinate with 3PL partners to strengthen manpower support and improve in-store operations
  • Manage store properties, assets, and facilities, ensuring proper usage, maintenance, and tracking
  • Identify opportunities to reduce expenses without affecting operational efficiency
  • Monitor productivity, work standards, and development of store staff, including training programs and performance reviews
  • Track and manage store costs versus budget, initiating corrective actions when needed
  • Drive continuous improvement of store performance against standards and best practices, including stock levels, productivity, and service quality
  • Monitor financial and operational metrics for each store and implement action plans for improvement
  • Develop and implement preventive and regular maintenance plans for equipment and infrastructure
  • Ensure product range availability aligns with store-specific selections and customer demand

Skill & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in logistics, warehousing, or fulfillment operations, preferably with large retailers in an international setting; experience in e-commerce, FMCG, or fulfillment operations is a plus
  • Proven track record in building and leading teams, managing large-scale cross-functional projects, and delivering operational solutions
  • Highly detail-oriented, structured, and able to prioritize tasks effectively to drive results
  • Comfortable interacting with senior executives and managing expectations across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, communication, and hands-on skills, with proficiency in operational tools and systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills, capable of inspiring and aligning teams around a shared mission
  • Energetic, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Language skills: fluent English; Arabic proficiency is highly advantageous
