Job Description

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing network infrastructures, with expertise in Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Aruba technologies. With 7–10 years of experience, the role focuses on SD-WAN deployments, network security, and performance tuning. Responsibilities include managing complex network projects, troubleshooting advanced issues, and ensuring seamless operations in large-scale enterprise environments. The role ensures the network infrastructure is secure, scalable, and efficient while collaborating with IT teams to integrate solutions across systems. Additionally, the position involves mentoring junior engineers and supporting network automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage network solutions using Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Aruba technologies for large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and other network security devices.
  • Monitor network performance and optimize for high availability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
  • Lead the deployment and management of SD-WAN solutions, ensuring optimized network traffic and improved branch connectivity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design SD-WAN architectures aligned with business requirements and integrate with existing infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot SD-WAN-related issues and implement solutions for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention systems, and other security measures to safeguard the network.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, monitor for potential threats, and enforce network security policies.
  • Ensure enterprise networks comply with security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues related to routing, switching, security, and SD-WAN, performing root cause analysis and preventive measures.
  • Liaise with vendors to escalate and resolve advanced technical problems.
  • Implement network automation and scripting using tools like Ansible, Python, or PowerShell to streamline configurations, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Drive network automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network topologies, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Provide regular reports on network performance, incidents, and optimization activities.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer and maintain documentation for team continuity.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, including system engineers, security teams, and cloud architects, to integrate network solutions with broader IT systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers in network design, troubleshooting, optimization, and best practices.
  • Stay current on industry trends and advancements in SD-WAN, network security, and automation.

Skill & Experience

  • 7–10 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking, with expertise in Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Aruba solutions.
  • Strong experience in SD-WAN deployment, configuration, and network optimization.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex routing, switching, security, and SD-WAN environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
