Job Description
The Division Manager will lead a team of Category Managers and oversee a major business unit, taking full accountability for the division’s financial performance. The role sets the strategic direction for assortment, pricing, promotions, and supplier relationships while driving cross-functional collaboration. It requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Category Managers across a major commercial division (Food & FMCG, Non-Food, or Fresh Food)
- Own the division’s P&L performance, managing a business portfolio exceeding €100M annually
- Set the strategic direction for assortment, pricing, and promotions to meet company objectives and enhance customer experience
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and industry partners to position the company as a preferred commercial partner
- Develop and upskill the category management team, ensuring consistent execution and adherence to commercial best practices
- Oversee implementation of core commercial levers while aligning with company policies, value proposition, and customer experience standards
- Monitor market trends, supplier investments, and customer behavior to identify growth opportunities
- Represent the division in cross-functional leadership forums and collaborate with Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations teams to drive execution
- Act as a role model and champion for commercial excellence across the organization
- Balance supplier contributions and commercial returns while safeguarding a high-quality customer experience
Skill & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial roles within retail, e-commerce, or FMCG sectors
- Proven track record of managing P&L and driving commercial performance at scale
- Strong leadership experience managing category teams or commercial departments
- In-depth knowledge of pricing, assortment, and promotional strategies
- Experience in strategic supplier management and senior-level negotiations
- Solid financial and business acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable commercial plans
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and people development skills
