Job Description

The role is responsible for providing decision support to maximize regional profitability through margin and pricing reviews. This includes tracking and evaluating product margins each season, optimizing product mix and pricing to enhance profitability, and planning, analyzing, and aligning territory pricing while considering currency fluctuations, price elasticity, consumer segments, and brand positioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct pricing strategy formulation across Nike Gender, Segment, and Dimension, ensuring product positioning reflects value and market trends.
  • Execute seasonal margin reviews with the Consumer & Marketplace team to optimize pricing and maximize profitability.
  • Translate seasonal product positioning and price laddering into country-specific pricing, conducting periodic reviews to rationalize prices based on sell-through, store feedback, and inventory levels.
  • Identify margin opportunities and drive pricing decisions with Marketplace leadership based on consumer preferences, profitability, competition, and macroeconomic indicators.
  • Align cross-functionally with buying, merchandising, wholesale, planning, and supply chain teams to achieve KPIs (e.g., GMROI, ITR, Profit, FPST, SOH, Markdown).
  • Inform Central Planning on product lifecycle, allocation, and brand strategy to support efficient seasonal and territory markdown planning.
  • Monitor full-price realization and adherence to RRP across retailers using web-scraping and pricing tools.
  • Review and report non-compliance with recommended pricing parameters on Core and 365 Product franchises across the One Nike Marketplace.
  • Lead in-territory consumer studies to quantify value drivers, analyze price elasticity, and optimize range architecture for value-based pricing.
  • Ensure alignment of pricing across GMG channels and NDDC to deliver a seamless omnichannel consumer experience.
  • Benchmark pricing against competitors across gender, segment, and product dimensions.
  • Align with Nike EHQ’s value-based pricing approach for in-territory pricing and product positioning.
  • Track implementation of pricing decisions and validate/report results.
  • Apply advanced retail math and gross margin profitability planning to analyze performance.
  • Use statistical and pricing tools, including multivariate, conjoint, correlation, regression analysis, and Nike value-based pricing research techniques (e.g., Gabor-Granger).

Skill & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
  • Master’s degree in Business Management (preferred).
  • Exposure to Merchandising Financial Planning and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Power Query, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience working in an SAP environment, with ability to generate and analyze reports.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in pricing strategy, profit optimization, and data analytics within footwear or apparel wholesale organizations.
