Job Description

The Lead Finance Officer oversees financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and compliance with policies and regulations. They manage accounting processes, supervise finance staff, and provide insights for strategic decision-making. The role involves monitoring cash flow, preparing financial statements, supporting audits, and implementing effective financial controls to optimize efficiency and maintain organizational financial health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle financial accounting tasks, ensuring all business transactions are recorded in compliance with IFRS and support timely completion of internal and external audits.
  • Assist teams in selecting correct general ledger accounts for accurate classification in financial statements.
  • Manage fixed assets accounting, tracking project costs, capitalizing assets accurately, and closing accounts upon project completion.
  • Oversee month-end closing processes, ensuring timelines are met and all activities completed accurately.
  • Reconcile balances in GL accounts and verify system reports for accuracy across ERP and reporting tools.
  • Analyze accounting options, recommend financial actions, and ensure compliance with Company policies and IFRS/IAS standards.
  • Perform additional finance-related duties as directed by the Head of Department.

Skill & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced qualification or professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA is preferred.
  • Prior audit experience in large organizations is highly desirable.
