Kitchen and Laundry Technician
Job Description
Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing kitchen and laundry equipment to ensure smooth operations. Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot malfunctions, and carry out preventive maintenance. Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards, assist with installation of new equipment, and support operational teams by keeping all machinery in optimal working condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to guest maintenance requests and resolve issues independently.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Inspect, clean, and lubricate tools; maintain inventory and requisition parts as needed.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and perform repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and MEP systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment including pumps, motors, air conditioners, refrigeration, and pool heaters.
- Operate safely using Lockout/Tagout procedures; follow company, safety, and local regulations.
- Use engineering software for preventive maintenance, energy management, and system monitoring.
- Mentor and train junior engineers; perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities.
- Assist with heavy lifting and movement of equipment, maintain proper ergonomics and safe work practices.
- Maintain professional appearance, guest interaction, and positive teamwork.
Skill & Experience
- Education: High school diploma or GED with a technical or vocational background.
- Work Experience: Strong hands-on experience in general maintenance, electrical systems, refrigeration, inventory management, and surface preparation/painting.
- Hotel Experience: At least 2 years in hotel engineering or maintenance roles.
- Supervisory Experience: Not required.
- Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver’s license, Universal CFC certification, and compliance with relevant state and federal regulations.
