Job Description
The Food Safety Intern will assist the Food Safety team in monitoring and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety across food production and service operations. Responsibilities include supporting inspections, documenting compliance, helping implement safety protocols, conducting basic audits, and contributing to training initiatives to ensure adherence to regulatory and company food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in checking Critical Control Points (CCPs), Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRPs), and Prerequisite Programs (PRPs) according to the Hazard Control Plan, ensuring all food safety standards are met.
- Collect food samples for microbiological testing as scheduled and record results accurately.
- Support investigations related to food safety incidents, customer complaints, and traceability events by gathering and documenting relevant information.
- Maintain detailed records and registers of food safety monitoring, verification activities, and compliance checks.
- Monitor personal hygiene practices of food handlers, identify deviations, and report non-compliance according to company hygiene policies.
- Assist in routine audits, inspections, and operational checks under the guidance of the Food Safety team.
- Provide general support for administrative tasks, data entry, and reporting related to food safety.
- Participate in other operational activities as directed by the Food Safety Management to ensure smooth and compliant food operations.
Skill & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a science-related field.
- Level 2 Food Safety Certification.
- At least 6 months of experience in food production, microbiology, or a related area.
- Strong communication skills with fluency in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage personal tasks independently.
