Job Description
The Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining technical systems, products, or infrastructure. The role involves analyzing requirements, creating solutions, ensuring compliance with standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, safe, and cost-effective outcomes. The Engineer also monitors performance, troubleshoots issues, and continuously improves processes or designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas, suggestions, and technical input
- Attend training workshops and review organizational technical guidelines and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager or Head of Department
- Adhere to RTA Information Security Policies and Procedures regarding data protection and approved regulations
- Review and approve temporary entrances, exits, and fencing applications for construction sites, ensuring traffic safety compliance
- Study and evaluate traffic diversions for minor and main roads in coordination with relevant RTA departments
- Process no-objection certificates for gate-level applications
- Issue work permits in right-of-way areas and review construction plans against RTA technical standards
- Conduct field visits for long-term road diversions, ensuring contractor compliance with approved permits
- Review and approve permits for temporary pavement occupancy while maintaining safe and clear pedestrian walkways
Skill & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from a recognized university
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience in traffic management, construction oversight, or civil engineering projects
- Familiarity with traffic safety regulations, road diversion planning, and construction site management
- Basic understanding of permit issuance, temporary site setup, and compliance procedures
- Willingness to participate in field visits, training programs, and hands-on project support
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
