Director/AI & Emerging Technology Assurance

Job Description

The role is responsible for leading assurance activities within the Risk & Assurance department, focusing on digital applications, infrastructure, and services including AI, Data, IoT, Cloud, Blockchain, Fintech, SaaS, web and mobile applications, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. The role helps protect the interests of e& group and its business units by ensuring corporate strategies, values, and objectives are supported through thorough assurance of digital systems and services. The incumbent will develop and execute the annual assurance plan, work closely with stakeholders, and provide guidance on digital transformation, cloud strategy, and emerging technologies. By identifying and managing risks and promoting continuous improvement, the role strengthens assurance over AI and other emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of an annual, risk-based audit plan covering digital applications, infrastructure, and services including AI, Data, IoT, Cloud, Blockchain, Fintech, SaaS, web and mobile applications, cybersecurity, customer experience, DevOps, and emerging technologies, ensuring comprehensive coverage to protect e& group and its business units while meeting regulatory and business standards.
• Support the VP of Digital, AI & Emerging Technology Assurance in establishing and maintaining a strong assurance framework across these domains, including strategy, risk management, annual planning, performance monitoring, reporting, and training to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and optimize resources.
• Plan and execute assurance activities across digital systems and emerging technologies, including risk-based internal audits, cross-functional assignments, and compliance reviews.
• Promote the integration of automated assurance processes and maintain awareness of emerging risks, industry practices, and technological developments to continuously improve audit methods.
• Use advanced technologies such as AI and data analytics to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of audits and reporting, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards for the e& group, its business units, and subsidiaries.
• Oversee the preparation and review of internal audit reports, ensuring findings and recommendations are objective, actionable, and aligned with stakeholder expectations, while supporting executive management in risk mitigation and informed decision-making.
• Encourage innovative approaches and agile responses to emerging challenges, driving process improvements and efficiency within the audit function.
• Set performance goals for assurance teams and implement a robust monitoring and feedback system to ensure high-quality outcomes, continuous development, and alignment with e&’s strategic objectives.
• Continuously assess emerging risks and challenges in digital environments, including digital transformation, cloud strategy, and new technologies, ensuring the assurance program remains adaptable, resilient, and effective in a changing environment.

Skill & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Telecom Engineering, or a related field; professional certification such as CISA is preferred.
• Over 12 years of experience in auditing technology, digital services, or related areas, including at least 6 years in a leadership role managing audit teams and projects.
