Job Description

The CX Cost Benefit role is responsible for managing and controlling the CX department’s operating and capital spending. This includes planning budgets, preparing forecasts, and tracking costs linked to day-to-day operations and capital initiatives. The role focuses on using financial resources effectively, improving cost efficiency, and ensuring the department meets its agreed financial targets and performance measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the budgeting and forecasting of OPEX, direct costs, and CAPEX, ensuring plans reflect business needs and operational priorities.
  • Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting models, tools, and templates.
  • Lead budgeting cycles in coordination with cost centre owners and functional leaders.
  • Work with finance and cost centre owners to manage monthly accruals and ensure costs are recorded accurately.
  • Monitor cost bookings and support accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Review and update cost-centre reporting structures to ensure they meet business requirements.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports comparing budget, forecast, and actual spend, highlighting variances and risks, and supporting controls for capital projects.
  • Produce detailed management reports covering all cost categories.
  • Define operational performance measures for OPEX and direct cost items.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and lead initiatives to deliver savings.
  • Assess the financial impact of new initiatives and business changes.
  • Review business cases for OPEX and CAPEX spend and support internal approval processes.
  • Support the reallocation of resources in line with changing business priorities.
  • Maintain and update financial policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Continuously improve financial processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Drive automation of monthly reporting where possible.
  • Partner with operations teams to identify inefficiencies and support the delivery of cost-saving actions.
  • Work closely with senior management to align cost control and resource planning with overall business objectives.

Skill & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A master’s degree or a CPA qualification is an advantage.
  • Five to six years of experience in business analysis, cost control, financial controlling, or reporting roles.
  • Experience within a large telecommunications or ISP organisation is preferred.
  • Previous exposure to call centre operations is a strong advantage.
