Job Description

Responsible for developing and managing the implementation of Ethics and Compliance policies and procedures, and leading ethics and compliance projects for assigned corporate or business functions. Ensures adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, promotes ethical operations, and identifies and mitigates ethics and compliance risks in line with the overall program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on local and international laws and regulations to ensure Mubadala Investment Company remains compliant and drives implementation of internal policies.
  • Review ethics and compliance policies and procedures to ensure alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain processes for reviewing, approving, and updating internal ethics and compliance policies.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance policies across the organization, ensuring adherence to corporate and governance standards.
  • Lead ethics and compliance projects for assigned corporate or business functions in line with the Group program, managing associated risks effectively.
  • Identify, assess, and analyze key ethics and compliance risks and emerging issues, and review audit results to implement corrective measures.
  • Manage assigned risk areas by monitoring developments to mitigate risks and maintain compliance with standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs to increase awareness of corporate governance, ethics, and compliance matters across the organization.
  • Maintain training requirement plans and reports to ensure employees receive up-to-date governance and compliance training.
  • Design and execute communication initiatives to promote an ethics and compliance-driven culture.
  • Supervise and manage business partners and service providers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective ethics and compliance advice aligned with business needs.
  • Keep updated on changes in local and international laws and regulations to support best practices in governance and compliance.
  • Prepare timely and accurate functional reports to meet organizational requirements and internal policies.

Skill & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or graduate-level degree in Law from a recognized international institution.
  • Relevant certification such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or equivalent.
  • 10–13 years of progressive experience in senior-level ethics and compliance or regulatory enforcement roles, preferably in top-tier international organizations or across multiple industries in the UK or USA. Additional relevant experience is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Mubadala Investment Company operations across sectors and familiarity with ethics and compliance practices, with the ability to apply leading practices to develop and lead tailored compliance projects.
  • In-depth understanding of local and international ethics and compliance laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to report and escalate critical or strategic matters to the Director/Deputy Head or Head – Ethics & Compliance.
  • Lead the development and delivery of ethics and compliance projects, providing input to supervisors and the Head to ensure alignment with the Group’s ethics and compliance program.
  • All key decisions with material impact on the function must be approved by the Director/Deputy Head or Head – Ethics & Compliance prior to implementation.
