Job Description
Assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring quality, portion, and presentation standards are met. Maintain kitchen cleanliness, monitor inventory, and follow safety and hygiene guidelines. Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy periods, help train and guide junior team members, and perform other duties as needed to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare special meals and substitute items, regulate oven, grill, broiler, and roaster temperatures.
- Thaw frozen food, portion, garnish, and plate dishes according to quality and presentation standards.
- Maintain food logs, monitor quantity and quality, and communicate menu specials or out-of-stock items.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and motivating staff.
- Follow all safety, security, and company policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, and unsafe conditions.
- Work with team to meet service goals and maintain positive relationships.
- Stand, walk, bend, lift, push, or pull objects up to 25 pounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Skill & Experience
- Technical, trade, or vocational school degree required
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
- No prior supervisory experience needed
- No specific license or certification required
