Job Description
This role is responsible for ensuring food is prepared and served to the high standards set by management in the designated kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the kitchen is stocked daily with all necessary ingredients and raw materials.
- Handle all kitchen equipment safely, following proper operating procedures.
- Prepare ingredients and perform daily mis-en-place for assigned station.
- Cook food according to standard recipes, maintaining portion control and reducing waste.
- Follow hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment regularly.
- Report any unsafe conditions, hazards, or equipment needing repair to the supervisor immediately.
Skill & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary diploma is a plus
- 1–2 years’ experience in a busy kitchen or full-service hotel
- Skilled in basic cooking methods and food preparation
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Able to use standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Familiar with inventory systems and basic computer use
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexible to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Enthusiastic about cooking and delivering high-quality meals
- Preference for candidates currently living in the UAE
