Job Description
The Category Manager is responsible for analyzing sales performance, gross margin, and inventory across regional markets and wholesale partners. They work closely with Buying, Commercial, and Retail teams to drive profitability through effective planning, forecasting, and assortment management. The role also oversees deliveries, allocations, and replenishment to ensure alignment with agreed wholesale plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze sales trends, order patterns, and market performance to ensure accurate demand forecasts for wholesale partners.
- Monitor sell-in and sell-out performance by account, identifying risks and opportunities to maximize sell-through and reduce excess inventory.
- Coordinate with Logistics to ensure timely delivery and accurate fulfillment of wholesale orders.
- Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly sales, stock, and intake (WSSI) reports for wholesale accounts.
- Support end-of-season stock clearance planning and execution, aligning with margin targets and partner commitments.
- Collaborate with Finance to validate margins and evaluate the impact of discounts, markdowns, and promotions on trade profitability.
- Build and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships to facilitate effective information sharing and follow-up actions.
- Develop strong relationships with wholesale partners to understand sales trends, demand drivers, and product preferences.
Skill & Experience
- Graduate degree in a related field, preferably in Business or Finance.
- Two to four years of experience in a Category Manager or Distribution Planner role.
- Mandatory experience in a retail environment.
- Previous experience in Beauty and Skincare retail is required.
- Proven experience in distribution and wholesale operations is essential.
