Sharjah Airport
About Company
Sharjah made aviation history in 1932 when the first flight landed at the Al Mahatta runway, marking the emirate’s entry into the world of air travel. Since then, Sharjah International Airport has grown into a modern facility, known for providing high-quality services and continually introducing innovative initiatives to improve the passenger experience.
The airport is committed to connecting people and places, both on the ground and in the air. Its open sky policy allows airlines from around the world to operate at the airport with ease, making it an important hub for international and regional air traffic. This approach has strengthened Sharjah’s position as a key gateway in the Middle East.
In 2014, Sharjah International Airport opened its newest runway, measuring 4,060 meters and equipped with Cat II capabilities, making it one of the region’s longest. This addition has enhanced the airport’s capacity and operational efficiency, enabling it to accommodate larger aircraft and more flights while maintaining safety and service standards.
