Job Description

The Audit Specialist is responsible for conducting audits of functional, operational, and financial activities, assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls. The role includes defining SOPs, supporting management with implementation, planning and executing audits according to accepted standards, reporting findings, and recommending corrective actions. The Audit Specialist also performs special reviews as requested by management and ensures timely implementation of audit recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory controls, stock take processes, and loss prevention activities within the region.
  • Conduct investigations for incidents related to stock or operational discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform audit procedures, collect and review data, and analyze processes in a professional manner.
  • Maintain audit work papers and sufficient evidence to support reported observations.
  • Assess and evaluate store risk levels (Low/Medium/High) and discuss findings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct training sessions for store teams on standard procedures and controls related to cash and stock movements.
  • Identify key issues during audits, communicate findings to management, and assist in implementing action plans.
  • Update audit reports, summarize replies and target dates, and issue final summaries of action plans to management.
  • Conduct follow-up audits and visits to ensure corrective actions are implemented on schedule.
  • Monitor store operations to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Define performance goals in collaboration with the reporting manager and track achievement throughout the year.
  • Take ownership of personal development by identifying learning needs and implementing agreed development plans.
  • Stay updated on professional developments, industry trends, and new auditing techniques through continuous learning.

Skill & Experience

  • Graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Working towards professional qualifications such as CIA, CFE, CA, ACCA, CPA, or other relevant Internal Audit certifications.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Visio, and data visualization/analytical tools.
  • 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in Audit, Loss Prevention, or Inventory Management.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are preferred.
