General Practitioner-Dermatology

Job Description

Provides comprehensive patient care with a focus on dermatology. Responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of skin-related conditions while maintaining overall health and wellness of patients. Combines general medical expertise with dermatology knowledge to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care at Aster DM Healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine physical examinations, medical history assessments, and general health screenings.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage dermatological conditions such as eczema, acne, psoriasis, dermatitis, skin infections, and skin cancers.
• Perform minor dermatological procedures, including excisions, cryotherapy, and skin biopsies.
• Prescribe and manage medications for dermatological and general medical conditions.
• Educate patients on skin health, preventive care, and lifestyle management.
• Collaborate with specialists for complex cases.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
• Participate in continuing medical education and remain updated on dermatology research and clinical guidelines.
• Provide telemedicine consultations as required.

Skill & Experience

• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in general practice and dermatology.
• Ability to perform minor dermatological procedures safely and effectively.
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
• Attention to detail in documentation and treatment planning.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Knowledge of current medical guidelines, dermatological medications, and treatments.
• Professionalism and empathy when treating patients of all ages.
• Experience & Qualifications:
• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent).
• Valid medical license to practice in the UAE.
• Experience as a General Practitioner with exposure to dermatology or completion of a dermatology rotation.
• Postgraduate training or certification in dermatology (preferred).
• Proven experience diagnosing and managing common and complex skin conditions.
