Job Description

The Demi Chef de Partie is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes to ensure an exceptional experience for guests and members. The role also involves supporting the kitchen team in maintaining food cost controls while upholding consistent standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes in accordance with company guidelines and standards
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations, ensuring proper hygiene and preventing cross-contamination
  • Prepare all necessary mis-en-place for relevant menus
  • Respond to guest queries promptly and efficiently, contributing to positive dining experiences
  • Ensure all food items are of good quality and stored correctly
  • Support cost control measures, help improve gross profit margins, and assist in achieving departmental and financial targets
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed, maintaining positive working relationships
  • Report any maintenance, hygiene, or safety hazards promptly
  • Comply with hotel security protocols, fire regulations, health and safety, and food safety legislation
  • Stay aware of departmental targets and actively contribute to achieving them as part of the team
  • Practice environmental awareness and sustainability in daily operations

Skill & Experience

  • NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Positive attitude with a professional approach
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification
  • Previous kitchen experience in a similar role
