Job Description
The Associate will support the Procurement Governance function by ensuring adherence to Mubadala’s policies, Delegation of Authority (DoA), and audit requirements, while applying an investment-focused perspective to procurement decisions. The role requires strong knowledge of procurement frameworks and governance, along with the ability to evaluate commercial models, cost drivers, and value-creation opportunities for investment entities and portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of procurement governance processes, including CTW, CAS variations, and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
- Review procurement cases to ensure alignment with policies, DoA thresholds, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in updating procurement policies, manuals, and governance frameworks in coordination with Legal, Audit, and Finance teams.
- Track and report on procurement governance KPIs, audit findings, and follow-up actions.
- Analyze procurement proposals with an investment perspective, assessing commercial structures, pricing models, and long-term value impact.
- Support evaluation of commercial models, such as MFAs, investment banking agreements, and AI-enabled procurement initiatives, to ensure financial sustainability.
- Conduct benchmarking, market analysis, and cost modeling to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with investment teams, portfolio companies, and external advisors to ensure procurement governance supports business value while mitigating risks.
- Provide governance input on strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier onboarding processes.
- Support the preparation of reports, decks, and briefing materials for senior management and committees.
Skill & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum of four years’ experience in procurement, governance, commercial advisory, or investment-related roles.
- Strong foundation in governance, including policy alignment, controls, Delegation of Authority, and compliance with enterprise standards.
- Investment or commercial mindset with the ability to assess commercial structures, understand financial implications, and support decision-making for investment and corporate units.
- Experience in complex organizational environments, ideally within financial institutions, consulting firms, or investment entities with a focus on corporate governance and strategic oversight.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Audit, DTS, and business units to ensure alignment on governance requirements and execution.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, capable of producing governance inputs, dashboards, and senior-level briefing materials.
- Leadership maturity with potential to evolve into a governance lead role and support long-term continuity for the function.
- Knowledge of procurement systems such as Oracle Fusion, Ivalua, or Ariba is a plus.
