Job Description
Plans, oversees, and evaluates patient-centered care in Outpatient Nursing, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, professional nursing standards, and JCI requirements. Coordinates multidisciplinary care, manages resources, supports staff development, participates in strategic planning, and promotes collaborative relationships to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and implements hospital policies, procedures, and standards for patient care, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance (JCI).
- Coordinates daily outpatient operations, ensuring efficient patient flow, staff coverage, and availability of supplies and equipment.
- Supervises, assigns, and evaluates nursing staff, supporting professional development, mentoring, and performance management.
- Monitors patient care, investigates incidents, enforces corrective actions, and ensures accurate documentation.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and maintain high standards of service.
- Oversees staffing schedules, attendance, leave, and vacation planning.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and reporting, submitting timely monthly and annual reports.
- Promotes patient-centered care, staff education, and adherence to infection control, safety, and hospital policies.
- Acts as a role model in nursing practice, encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional competence among staff.
Skill & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum three years full-time) or a Nursing degree (minimum two years) with registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.
- UAE nationals with UAE or non-UAE degrees are exempt from experience and clinical training requirements for the applied title (birth certificate and mother’s family book required).
- Non-UAE nationals who graduated from UAE universities must complete six months of clinical training in an APS health facility (except for Registered and Assistant Nurse titles).
- Must hold a valid license/registration to practice in the home country and/or last country of employment, if applicable.
- Must hold a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications may apply depending on scope of practice.
- Postgraduate qualification in Nursing Management or Advanced Clinical Specialty is preferred.
- Minimum seven (7) years of nursing experience in Outpatient Nursing.
- At least three (3) years of managerial experience in Outpatient Nursing.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
