Job Description

The Carpenter is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining all carpentry and painting work in the store to keep fixtures and fittings in good condition. The role works closely with the Workshop Coordinator and Com-In Manager to plan and complete maintenance work on time. This includes supporting store displays, refurbishments, and layout changes. By ensuring work is done safely, efficiently, and within budget, the Carpenter helps maintain the overall appearance of the store and contributes to a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out carpentry, painting, and general maintenance work as assigned by the Workshop Coordinator or Com-In Manager.
  • Work with interior, visual merchandising, and activity teams during store renovations or catalogue launches to complete carpentry tasks on schedule.
  • Discuss regular maintenance needs with the Workshop Coordinator or Com-In Manager and complete the required work accordingly.
  • Prepare and submit lists of materials and tools needed before starting any task.
  • Install, remove, repair, and maintain store fixtures and back-office fittings as required.
  • Fix damaged woodwork and paintwork and provide technical support when needed.
  • Follow safety procedures at all times and address any safety risks immediately.
  • Reduce costs by reusing materials and making the best use of available resources.

Skill & Experience

  • Strong skills in finishing carpentry, woodwork, and paint work.
  • Experience with wall construction and floor covering tasks.
  • Able to handle different carpentry jobs at the same time and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Customer-focused, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly when required.
  • Comfortable working independently while taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
  • Willing to improve skills continuously and take ownership of work quality.
  • Works well as part of a team and supports others when needed.
  • Vocational or higher secondary education in a related field.
  • At least three years of hands-on experience in carpentry or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
