Job Description

The Audit Manager is responsible for developing and executing financial and operational audit plans to assess all Group activities. Key responsibilities include evaluating the accuracy and reliability of information, safeguarding assets, ensuring efficient resource use, achieving objectives, and verifying compliance with laws and regulations. The role supports internal control systems, advises management on risk and control effectiveness, oversees audit assignments, maintains audit documentation, and guides staff development to meet international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain audit policies, plans, objectives, and procedures.
  • Prepare the Annual Operational and Financial Audit Plan, including audit subjects, locations, and budgeted days.
  • Review and approve planning documents for each audit engagement.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality of operational and financial audits.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems.
  • Review financial and operational information for reliability and integrity.
  • Verify compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Evaluate safeguarding of assets and efficiency of resource utilization.
  • Maintain all audit files and records.
  • Review and validate audit reports for accuracy and content.
  • Conduct Audit Review Meetings to discuss findings.
  • Prepare Executive Summaries and Monthly Reports.
  • Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Enhance use of file interrogation software for audit efficiency.
  • Coordinate with IS Audit teams for computer-assisted audits.
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure coverage and control effectiveness.
  • Participate in selection, training, and supervision of audit staff.
  • Motivate and guide staff to maintain professional standards and timely completion of audits.
  • Stay updated on internal audit best practices and techniques.
  • Perform ad hoc assignments and provide feedback for meetings and committees.
  • Investigate fraud, determine loss and control weaknesses, and recommend preventive strategies.

Skill & Experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with computerized financial and operational systems.
  • High level of technical and management expertise.
  • MBA in Finance or professionally qualified accountant.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in operational and financial audits.
  • In-depth knowledge of audit processes across multiple sectors, including Trading, Retail, Manufacturing, and Real Estate.
