Job Description
The Assistant Counsel provides legal support across the organization, assisting with contracts, compliance, corporate governance, and risk management. They review, draft, and negotiate agreements, ensure adherence to laws and regulations, and support internal stakeholders with legal guidance. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to protect the company’s interests and facilitate informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements to ensure clarity and protect company interests.
- Provide legal guidance on contracts related to procurement, supply chain, marketing, and advertising activities.
- Advise internal teams on contractual obligations, potential risks, and regulatory compliance to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with business units to resolve contractual issues and implement best practices in contract management.
Skill & Experience
- Qualified lawyer with 3–5 years PQE in a common law jurisdiction.
- Combination of in-house experience and private practice training is preferred.
- Strong skills in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Experience with franchise, procurement, supply chain, and marketing agreements is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Prior experience or training at a leading UK law firm is highly desirable.
