Job Description
As Manager Equipment Development, you will oversee onboard equipment and amenities development for Qatar Airways and Qatar Executive. You will manage product enhancements, tenders, and projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and suppliers to define requirements, deliver innovative solutions, and ensure all initiatives align with departmental and corporate strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the strategy and execution of onboard equipment and amenities, ensuring alignment with brand and service objectives.
- Research global trends and innovations to enhance passenger experience and maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaborate with the Strategy Team to develop long-term equipment roadmaps, incorporating feedback from onboard, ground, and sponsorship teams.
- Plan and oversee projects to ensure efficient, creative, and cost-effective development processes.
- Assess and select suppliers and manufacturers based on technical capability and scalability.
- Define project scope and briefs using operational feedback, service requirements, and stakeholder input.
- Work with the Sponsorship Department to integrate co-branded initiatives into equipment strategies.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment for consistent customer experience across all touchpoints.
Skill & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in product development and design.
- Practical knowledge of project management tools.
- Experience applying principles of color, materials, layout, product engineering, graphics, textiles, and visual communication.
- Strong understanding of product design processes, technologies, and design theory.
- Proficient in industry-standard 2D and 3D design and visualization tools.
- Passion for experience design and continuous learning.
