Transport & Logistics Manager

Job Description

This role is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Discover Qatar transport unit and ensuring smooth, reliable service. The position oversees vehicles, drivers, and tour guides, manages transport logistics and procedures, and supervises airport and port operations. It also plans and coordinates transport needs across all services, including airport transfers, city tours, desert trips, and staff transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full transport function, including logistics staff, airport and port teams, tour guides, drivers, and leased vehicles.
• Plan and manage vehicle usage to ensure resources are used efficiently and in line with operational needs.
• Coordinate closely with Reservations and Product teams to support smooth daily operations and tour execution.
• Align vehicle schedules and driver rosters with expected customer demand and bookings.
• Track operational data and key metrics, review performance, and introduce improvements where needed.
• Develop and maintain transport and logistics procedures covering all operational activities.
• Set yearly objectives and monitor daily performance against agreed targets.
• Identify and implement practical transport solutions to meet the needs of different customer segments.
• Manage staff rostering, recruitment, training, and day-to-day supervision, including vendor coordination.
• Ensure proper sourcing, maintenance, and replacement planning for all vehicles, including emergency support.

Skill & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid Qatar driving license is mandatory.
• Good knowledge of Qatar’s road network, locations, and key tourist sites is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, people management, financial awareness, and presentation skills.
• Confident computer user with good working knowledge of common office applications.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills.
• Proven ability to plan work, delegate tasks, and manage daily operations effectively.
• Capable of training, guiding, and developing team members while encouraging teamwork.
• Knowledge of Arabic or European languages is a plus.
• Understanding of vehicles, especially buses and coaches, is an added benefit.
• Safety and first aid training will be considered an advantage.
